Coronavirus Update Please Report COVID-19 Cases
Please report all positive cases of COVID-19 involving a student to the school nurse as soon as the case is confirmed. By quickly reporting cases to the school nurse, the required contact tracing can be completed in order to keep all members of the school community healthy and safe. Anyone exhibiting signs of illness, regardless of whether or not they have tested positive for COVID-19, is to stay home. Thank you.

"In Pursuit of Flavor...and a Cure" Cookbook
FCMS is inviting teachers, parents and students to share your most cherished and favorite homemade recipes in the FCMS "In Pursuit of Flavor...and a Cure" charity cookbook. All proceeds collected from the sale of our cookbook will go to Susan G. Komen's DMV Tri-State "More Than Pink Walk" in September, where monies raised will support underprivileged women and men in our area diagnosed with breast cancer.

Cheerleading Club
Starting March 1, Cheerleading Club will meet after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays at FCMS. Meeting times for the club will be determined based on interest, and announced prior to March 1. Any current 7th or 8th grader interested in attending, please contact Coach Clesta Foor at foorc@fcpsk12.net for more information and a permission form. Both Hybrid and Virtual students are allowed to attend. Due to the new format, tryouts will not be necessary at this time, however a permission form will be required.

FCPS is hosting a Special Education Virtual Interview Day on Saturday, April 24. The Virtual Interview Day is open to individuals who are eligible for, or hold, a Virginia teaching license with an endorsement in Special Education. Registration is required.

Expanded In-Person Learning Begins April 12
The School Board has voted to expand in-person learning for students in grades 2-12 from two to four days each week beginning April 12. The all-distance learning option will remain in place through the end of the 2020-21 school year.

Virginia LEARNS
Frederick County Public Schools Assistant Superintendent for Instruction Jim Angelo has been appointed to serve as a member of the Virginia LEARNS workgroup. The workgroup, which has been formed by the Virginia Department of Education, will be assessing the needs of students and working to support school divisions across Virginia as they implement in-person instruction options for students.
