School Counseling


The data-driven comprehensive school counseling program at Frederick County Middle School will facilitate students' success in the three domains of academic, personal/social and career development. The counselor's role will be to facilitate a collaborative effort between home, school and community. The counseling program will be developmental in nature, while encompassing individual differences and abilities, with an ultimate goal of fostering responsible and productive citizens.

Welcome Back Scholars, Parents, and Guardians:

We are excited to have our FCMS scholars back in the building, and we are looking forward to an inspiring year. The beginning of each school-year can bring new choices and challenges for our scholars, whether it is friends, academics or planning for the future, it can be tough to stay on top of it all. It is important to establish routines for your scholars and open new lines of communication with your child’s team of teachers. October is Bullying Prevention Month (We will be focusing on kindness…)

Career Cafe’ is a program Ms. Egas started several years ago in our building. Scholars in 8th grade, have the opportunity to meet with professionals from a variety of different careers. Scholars are able to ask questions and learn more about the diverse career opportunities in the community. If you would like to volunteer your time to be a speaker please contact Ms. Egas.
