Middle School Rezoning Public Information Meeting

On Wednesday, November 28 at 6:30 p.m., a public information meeting is being held at Frederick County Middle School regarding work to adjust the James Wood and Frederick County middle school attendance zones. The rezoning options that have been developed will be reviewed and those in attendance will have the opportunity to comment on the options.

For the seventh consecutive year, the Virginia School Boards Association has recognized Frederick County Public Schools as a Platinum Level Certified Green School Division as part of the Green Schools Challenge. FCPS is one of just 15 school divisions in Virginia to earn Platinum Level status.

School Security Update
School Board Votes to Request Funds for Safety and Security Upgrades

The School Board voted November 7 to request a supplemental appropriation of approximately $1.3 million from the Frederick County Board of Supervisors for the Phase II Safety and Security Construction Upgrades to seven schools as well as the FCPS Administration Building.

SAT Success

The overall mean score of Frederick County Public Schools’ 2018 graduates who took the SAT exceeded the national mean score of public high school seniors. Frederick County’s mean score of 1099 exceeded the all-schools national mean score by 50 points.
